Welcome to The Herald Group, Brooke!
THG recently welcomed Brooke Ainslie to the team as our newest Senior Associate, bringing with her previous experience in the world of public affairs. She has already been a valuable addition to the THG team and has integrated herself into the work for several client accounts. We sat down with Brooke for a quick Q&A so you can get to know more about her and join us in welcoming her to our team.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born and raised in Virginia Beach and hold a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. Even though I initially pursued a major in sports medicine, my passion for public policy led me into the political communications field, ultimately bringing me to DC.
Before THG, I worked at a public relations agency specializing in various concentrations, from event production to grassroots initiatives and ad campaigns.
In my free time, I enjoy SoulCycle classes and going to DC sporting events.
What excites you the most about working in public affairs?
It is rewarding knowing that my work is helping to shape public opinion and impacting important policy initiatives. I also love that my job requires constant adaptation and engagement, making everyday fun and different.
What energizes or inspires you?
I am grateful to wake up excited to go to work. I enjoy knowing I'm making a difference in the world by being an effective storyteller for my clients.
What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learned in your career?
Absorb all knowledge like a sponge and ask questions. Embracing change and learning from my peers, being open to new ideas, and asking the right questions has provided me with the opportunity to evolve my self-growth.
What is your favorite thing about Washington, DC?
I love how every neighborhood tells a story, unique and eclectic in its own way. Yet, they all fit together like a puzzle. I find that Washingtonians all share that same common thread too. You can engage in conversation with individuals from different walks of life and learn how we all arrived in the city for similar purposes: to make a positive impact through our work, to connect and collaborate, and to experience a profound sense of pride living in the nation's capital.
