Welcome to The Herald Group, McLaurine!

Last month, we welcomed McLaurine Pinover to The Herald Group as our newest Senior Director, who brings Capitol Hill and agency communications experience. She has already been a valuable addition to the THG team and has quickly integrated herself into several client accounts. We sat down with McLaurine for a quick Q&A so you can get to know more about her and help us in welcoming her to our team.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m originally from Auburn, Alabama, and graduated with a degree in political science from Auburn University. I’ve worked in government communications since 2015 and am grateful to use that experience at The Herald Group. My husband Robert and I have a sweet baby boy who just turned one. I love going to the beach with my family, playing tennis, and reading in my spare time. Preferably all three in the same weekend!

What excites you the most about working in public affairs?

Being able to shape public opinion and spread the word on important issues has always been exciting. And I enjoy the ever-changing public affairs landscape.

What energizes or inspires you?

I volunteer with the Junior League of Washington and Alzheimer’s Association and love working with others to support a worthy cause. It can be very inspiring. 

What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learned in your career? 

I’ve learned hard work is incredibly rewarding and the importance of building and maintaining relationships.

What is your favorite thing about Washington, DC?

I was intimidated to move to a major city coming from a small town. Over time I realized DC has many similar qualities to a small town. I run into people I know all the time, and it’s a city with lots of greenery and no skyscrapers.
