The Herald Group Continues 2016 Growth with the Hiring of New Vice President

WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 25, 2016 – The Herald Group, LLC, a national bipartisan public affairs and issues management firm, today announced the hiring of R.C. Hammond as vice president. R.C. will provide strategic communications and advocacy counsel to the firm’s expanding roster of corporate, industry coalition, associations and non-profit clients.

“R.C. is a strong addition to an already strong team here at The Herald Group,” said Matt Well, managing partner of The Herald Group. “R.C. brings impressive experience in strategy, media relations, political acumen and client service that will further advance our client’s advocacy and communications objectives.”

R.C. has been a media spokesman for candidates for governor, U.S. Congress, and The White House, having served as press secretary and national spokesman for Newt Gingrich’s 2012 Republican presidential primary bid. Prior to joining The Herald Group, R.C. was a vice president at H+K Strategies, a global PR and consulting firm, where he focused on providing media relations counsel, developing content and guiding issue campaigns for leading trade associations in the energy sector. He spent a decade on Capitol Hill as a senior aide for prominent Republican members of Congress from New Hampshire, West Virginia and Oregon — crafting media strategies that advanced policy initiatives in healthcare, energy, financial services, telecommunications and foreign affairs.

“The Herald Group has a strong reputation for tackling its clients’ most pressing public policy challenges through robust, integrated campaigns,” Hammond said. “I look forward to being part of the THG team and helping further expand the firm’s reputation as a leader in strategic communications and public affairs.”
