Meet Bailey Hansen: Tapping Into Digital Success (and Tapas!)
At The Herald Group, we know that a great team makes all the difference, which is why we’re thrilled to introduce our newest digital team member, Bailey Hansen! Bailey brings top-tier experience in digital strategy, political and advocacy campaigns, and high-performing advertising efforts. But beyond her expertise, she’s also someone you’ll want to grab sushi with, talk strategy over a round of golf, or swap book recommendations.
We sat down with Bailey for a quick Q&A to get to know her better.
Tell us a little about yourself.
Before DC, I was born and raised in California and went to college at The University of Alabama. Before joining The Herald Group, I worked at a digital firm running high-profile campaigns with data-driven advertising and communication strategies that drove results—whether that was fundraising, lead generation, or content marketing. I love collaborating with teams to optimize campaign performance. Basically, if there’s a way to make digital campaigns work smarter and harder, I’m on it!
What inspires you?
I get a lot of energy from the organizations I’m involved with, like the Alabama State Society, California State Society, Independent Women’s Network, Enzler Society, Taste of the South, and the Cherry Blossom Program. I love working with people who are passionate about making an impact. Between all these boards, I might need a personal assistant just to keep track of my schedule—but honestly, staying busy keeps me motivated!
Outside of work, where would we find you?
I’m always on the hunt for the best tapas and sushi spots in DC! When I’m not exploring the city’s food scene, you’ll probably find me cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, golfing, or taking a stroll around the National Mall. If you’re looking for restaurant recommendations, here are my top picks:
🍽️ Caruso’s Grocery
🍷 14th Street Barcelona
🍣 Love, Makoto
What’s your favorite book?
I’m a big fan of The Bold Ones by Shawn Kanungo. It’s all about the power of boldness and innovation over disruption. The book breaks down unconventional but practical ways to challenge industries and create meaningful change. I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from it—not just for my career but for how I approach challenges in general.
What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learned in your career?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to not be afraid to step outside my comfort zone—both for myself and my clients. Some of the best ideas sound crazy at first, but they’re also the ones that can lead to real breakthroughs. Taking smart risks, thinking outside the box, and challenging the status quo is how great things happen. You never know where a bold idea might take you!
We couldn’t be more excited to have Bailey on board—her creativity, strategic mindset, and passion for results make her an incredible addition to our team. If you get the chance to work with her, you’re in great hands!
